This has been the most unusual election year in recent history. We as a community have faced challenges brought on by the Coronavirus pandemic. We shut our community down for two and a half months, and even moved our local elections from May to November.

For the first time 11 years The Gainesville City Council had a contested seat. This election shattered records for voting, with 70% of registered voters in Cooke County casting ballots, and I think that speaks to the strong future of our republic.

I share many ideas with Mr. Hill and I look forward to seeing his priorities achieved during his term. He will do a fine job representing the residents of Ward 3.

I would like to thank my wife, Alicia for her support in this election. I would also like to thank my many friends and family who supported my campaign. I stand ready to work with Mr. Hill to advance Gainesville.

I am very proud of my son and his run for city council. Your first foray into politics and active community service didn’t go as you planned. However as I’ve always told you, it’s only failure if you don’t get back up.
